Chemical cleaning of injectors should be reserved for PM type of injector service. This is because even if you have cleaned injectors chemically you can not conclude that the injectors are not the cause of an engine performance issue

Chemical cleaning of injectors severe enough to cause performance issues can restore injectors to only 75% (or less!) of OE flow specs. Ultrasonic cleaning of injectors is the only way to guarantee the injectors are clinically clean and back to their original condition. When reconditioning injectors with a testing and flow bench results can be quantified and noted directly by eye rather than guessing at results of chemical cleaning of injectors and pintle baskets buried inside the intake manifold
