I downloaded and installed V8.3 today.
Also downloaded and attempted to install the AE Enhanced/Proline interface. I followed instructions and attached my connector (usb version) as directed and attempted to install. Not sure if it installed but it said my firmware version was 26.

What does the note under the AE Enhanced/Proline Interface Firmware update mean? It reads "OBDII & SCI Interfaces do not require a firmware update"

BTW, this past May, I sent my AE Proline connector back to AE and had it updated.

Thanks for the clairification; maybe I just don't understand the term "SCI"

Check the firmware currently installed, version 28 is current.

We have several interfaces, they are:

Scantool OBDII (serial and USB versions) Not upgradeable
Chrysler SCI (serial and USB) not upgradeable
AE Enhanced (serial and USB) upgradable using the updater, highest version 30
AE Enhanced REV 2 (serial and USB) upgradable using the updater, highest version 30
ProLine Connector (USB only) upgradable using the updater, highest version 28

SCI refers to the Chrysler protocol for their non-CAN vehicles.

Bill

thanks for the info.
One last question: How can I determine what is the latest firmware version I've installed?

To update your interface start the FirmwareUpdater.exe with your interface attached to your PC and read and follow the instructions

Once update has completed you will be notified

To check your current firmware version, re-start FirmwareUpdater.exe with your interface attached to your PC and click connect

When I connect my updated proline connector, the following message appearsin the status window:
AE Enhanced Connector Firmware Status:
+ Current Rev 1 Firmware: 30
+ Current Rev 2 Firmware: 30
ProLine Connector Firmware Status:
+ Current Firmware: 28

When I attempt to update the firmware, I get the following message:
Failed to communicate with the AutoEnginuity Hardware.
Please verify that the interface you are using is labeled 'AE Enhanced Connector'.
This does not work with either the OBDII and Chrysler SCI Interfaces.

Any idea what the problem is? BTW I'm using VISTA

thanks, karl

That sounds right icon13.gif

That doesn't icon4.gif but some issues are more easily clarified/resolved by communicating directly with AE than in a forum

Maybe just a bug or glick because I'm able to use AE with no problem.
Might give AE an email next week to see if I have a problem.

thanks for all the help.
AE Proline rocks!
